It’s always a treat when we get the opportunity to do two weddings for a family! We’ve had fun getting to know this creative and talented family over the years, not to mention that one of our own planners was a bridesmaid! Cheers to this sweet bride and groom! A few words from Liz…
Please tell us a little about your story / how you meet / etc.
We met at Otey’s Fest. I had moved back to Birmingham because my family lives here, and he was here for his residency at UAB.
What was your vision for your wedding? Favorite detail?
My favorite detail was the draping at the front entrance of Mountain Brook Club. Design Productions did a great job with the lighting and draping, and Steadham McGowin’s garland tie backs completed the look. In terms of my vision, I have always loved candles, so I wanted that to be a recurring theme in the different rooms of the club. Steadham did a beautiful job with the flowers and incorporating tons of candles on the church steps, behind the bars, on the side boards, and hanging over the food in the dining room.
What was your favorite part of the planning?
I really enjoyed working with Neillie and getting help from Louise who was a bridesmaid in the wedding as well. Throughout planning, I enjoyed thinking of creative ideas, and they told me what would work and what wouldn’t. They were also great about knowing how to make different ideas come to life.
What was your most memorable part of the day?
My favorite part of the day was walking out of the church, hearing the bells ringing, and realizing we were finally married!!
