A beautiful August wedding at the lake to warm you up on a cold and snowy weekend! A few words from the bride…
Please tell us a little about your story / how you meet?
Charles and I met when I went to dinner with a friend at Saw’s Juke Joint one night and sat at the bar where he was bartending. Dinner turned into shutting the place down because we just kept talking. He asked my friend for my number, and waited only about ten minutes after we left to call me. We went on our first date a few days later, and have been inseparable ever since!
What was your vision for your wedding? Favorite detail?
Since we were getting married at the lake, we just wanted everything to be fun. The lake is one of our favorite places so the last thing we wanted our reception to be was stuffy. The design was Kate Spade meets Lilly Pulitzer. My mom, mother in law and I even made Lilly bowties for the band, one of my favorite details. My most favorite detail though had to be my dad’s ring on my bouquet. He passed away when I was 20, and though I know he was smiling down on us, it was really special to have something to hold onto from him when my mom walked me down the aisle.
What was your favorite part of the planning?
My favorite part of planning was when my mom, mother-in-law, and I met Neillie at the lake. It was amazing to really see how everything was going to go together, and walk through where everything was going to be. It was even more fun getting to Willow Point a couple of days before the wedding to see the tent in person. How Mariée Ami brought everything together was incredible!
What was your most memorable part of the day?Our first look was so special! I was so nervous until I saw him, and everything else just fell into place. It didn’t matter about the rain or mud just that we were getting married. Also, to all brides worried about rain- it brings beautiful rainbows!
