Cheers to Valentine’s Day!

As wedding planners, we definitely have a soft spot for this day! To help us celebrate we have a little Valentine’s Day treat from our friends at Shindigs Catering! These guys are known for their incredible champagne cocktails, so we hope you can share this recipe with your special someone or friends!

“The French Attraction”

2 oz lillet rouge
2 oz grand marnier
2 oz pomegranate juice
8 oz champagne
2 large pieces of grapefruit zest
Add the liqueurs and pomegranate juice to a shaker with ice and shake vigorously to excite.  Strain the mixture into two champagne flutes and top off with the champagne. Warm inside and out of zest with lighter until shiny then fold / squeeze the zest in half with the skin facing out towards the flame and glass’s rim. As the essential oils express, an invigorating flame will toast the expelled oil and caramelize them for an appealing reaction. Rub the rim of the glass with the nearly spent zest then discard.
